Guided City Tour

Amongst numerous timber-framed houses and the old market place the Gerberbachviertel (old tanning district) invites for a visit. The southern flair of the market place proves the quotation of Emperor Joseph the II: "This is where Germany starts to become Italy". The Gerberbachviertel has been fondly renovated and lets one vaguely discern the hustle and bustle of former times. Guided tours through the old town of Weinheim are also available with  English- and French-speaking guides. Group tarif for up to 10 people 30,-- Euro, every additional person 3,-- Euro. Public guided tours take place from mid of March to the end of October on every Friday at 5:00 pm for
3,-- Euro per person (min. number of participants: 3 people). Language: german.

Guided Museum Tour

The museum of the city Weinheim is housed in the former Teutonic Order Building which dates back to 1710 and was built under Rhineland (Palatinate) Count and Grand Master Franz Ludwig. Several main attractions are Pre- and early historic founds from the surrounding area, frescoes dating back to the Middle Age from Peterskirche (church) which was destroyed 1910, technical and peasant implements, bourgeous culture of living as well as models and information regarding the town history. Guided tour fee for adults 2,-- Euro.
